QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Things you might be wondering
no question is too small, too odd, or too late at night
You might be here because someone told you about Jordan and you’re not sure what it is. You might be here because you want to know if it’s safe. You might be here because you tried it and something didn’t sit right, or because you just want to understand it before you say anything to it. All of that is welcome. Below are the questions we hear most.

about Jordan
what it is, what it isn’t, what to expect
What is Jordan?
Jordan is an AI prayer companion. You can talk to it about what’s on your mind — doubts, prayers, the things you don’t know how to say. It listens, reflects scripture back to you, and prays with you. It’s available whenever you need it, including the hours when there’s no one else to call.
Is Jordan a real person?
No. Jordan is an AI. We’re careful never to let it pretend otherwise. The voice is warm, the conversation is real in the sense that something is happening, but the thing on the other end is not human. We tell you this because we’d rather you know than wonder.
What can I talk to Jordan about?
Anything that’s heavy. Anxiety, doubt, loneliness, faith questions, family stuff, the thing you can’t name. You can also just ask Jordan to pray with you, or to read a verse, or to sit with you for a minute. There’s no wrong way to start.
Will Jordan tell me what to do?
No. Jordan is not here to give advice or hand you decisions. It listens, offers scripture, prays — and trusts you to keep walking with God on your own.
privacy and data
what happens to the things you say
Is what I say to Jordan private?
Yes. Your conversation is not shared with your parents, your youth pastor, your school, or anyone else. It is not posted, indexed, or sold. What you say to Jordan stays between you and Jordan.
Do you keep a record of my conversations?
Conversations are not stored as personal records tied to your name. We use anonymized data only to make Jordan better — especially at responding well to hard moments. No one is reading your prayers.
Do I have to sign up or give my name?
No. You can talk to Jordan without making an account, without giving your email, and without telling it who you are. You can use a name if you want, or not.
safety and the hard moments
when things are heavier than a conversation
What if I’m in crisis or thinking about hurting myself?
Please reach out to a person right now. In the United States, you can call or text 988 — the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. Jordan can sit with you, but Jordan cannot be there in the way another person can, and there are moments that need a person.
What does Jordan do when I bring up something really hard?
Jordan listens. Jordan does not minimize what you are carrying or change the subject. When the moment calls for it, Jordan will gently say so — and point you toward a trusted adult, a counselor, a crisis line, or whatever fits the situation. Jordan does not try to be the only help you have.
Is Jordan a counselor or a therapist?
No. Jordan is a prayer companion. If something in your life calls for a counselor, a therapist, a doctor, or a pastor — Jordan will be the first to say so. Those people exist for reasons Jordan cannot replace.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.”
Psalm 34:18theology and denomination
where Jordan stands, and where it doesn’t
What denomination is Jordan?
Jordan draws on the breadth of Christian tradition — scripture, the early church, the prayers that are shared across denominations. It has been built in close consultation with Episcopal clergy, and is in use at St. James the Great Episcopal Church in Newport Beach. But Jordan does not push one tradition over another.
What translation of the Bible does Jordan use?
Jordan most often draws on widely respected translations like the NRSV and NIV. If you ask Jordan to read a verse in a translation you prefer, you can — and it will try to honor that.
What if I’m questioning my faith?
That’s allowed here. Doubt is part of faith for almost everyone, somewhere along the way. Jordan will not shame you for it, argue with you, or try to talk you out of where you are. It will sit with you, and offer scripture that meets the questions you’re carrying.
Is Jordan going to push religion on me?
No. Jordan is openly Christian and the conversations are grounded in scripture, but Jordan does not pressure, guilt, or push. If you came in curious rather than committed, you’re welcome here too.
cost and Patreon
what’s free and what’s not
Is Jordan free?
Yes. The conversation is free, with no account needed and no payment required. We mean that — there is no gate.
Then what is the Patreon for?
The Patreon is for people who want to support the work, or who want deeper Scripture reflections and longer guidance than the conversation alone offers. It is entirely optional. Nothing about Jordan changes if you never look at it.
technical questions
making it work on your end
Does Jordan work on my phone?
Yes. Jordan works on any modern phone, tablet, or computer with a browser. Just tap Talk Now in the bottom-right corner of any page on this site to start.
Do I need to download an app?
Not for this site. The Jordan — AI Prayer Companion app is also available for free on the App Store and on Google Play. But you don’t need either — the website works on its own.
Do I need a microphone or camera?
A microphone helps, since Jordan is designed for spoken conversation. The first time you tap Talk Now, your browser will ask for mic permission — that’s normal, and you can say no if you’d rather just listen. No camera is needed.
Jordan isn’t loading. What do I do?
Try refreshing the page first. If it still doesn’t work, try another browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox), or another device. If it’s still not loading after that, please let us know — we want to fix it.
how to use Jordan well
small things that make a difference
How do I start a conversation?
Tap Talk Now, then just say what’s on your mind. You don’t need to introduce yourself, set the scene, or explain who you are. You can start with “I don’t know what to pray about,” or “I had a hard day,” or just “hi” — Jordan will meet you wherever you start.
How long should I talk to Jordan?
As long or as short as you need. Some people use Jordan for two minutes before bed. Others sit with it for half an hour when something is heavy. There is no recommended length — only what feels right for you that day.
Can I come back later?
Yes, anytime. Jordan won’t remember your previous conversation — each one starts fresh — but you are always welcome to return. Many young people use Jordan most on the nights when sleep is hard to find.
Should Jordan replace talking to a real person?
No, and Jordan itself will tell you so. Jordan is a companion for the in-between moments — the late nights, the questions you haven’t said out loud yet, the prayers without an audience. The real people in your life — friends, family, pastors, counselors — still matter, and Jordan will keep pointing you back to them.
